Lena’s Lens (photographs of our trip  from a 7 year old’s perspective)

Last year when we went to Paris, I made a blog post where I shared some of the pictures that Lena (my now 7 year old daughter) had taken on the trip.  It was a popular post, so I’m doing it again with her pictures from Italy.   She got a new camera for Christmas…so some of these photos she took with the camera and many of them are from her iphone.

When I downloaded her pictures and started looking at them, it was hard to tell if I was looking at her pictures, or my own pictures.  She’s matured a lot and she learned how to use the ZOOM on her lens…so you will see that a lot.   She is also still a 7 year old, so there are a few butt shots from sculptures….but her silliness is a part of her personality, so it’s only fair to show samples from all of her photographs.  It always interests me in what she decided to photograph…so there are many things that I saw but never bothered to photograph.

The pictures are random and are from our visits to Milan, Venice, Bologna, Florence, Siena, and Rome.  Enjoy.

  1. Brava, Lena!
I could not have taken such good photographs when I was seven years old. I understand why you dad had trouble deciding if they were your or his.

Nice butt shots, by the way;-)

    1. Thanks, mvaden1948! She’s quite the little photographer. And the butt shots are mildly inappropriate…and we try to expose her to art…but she’s 7, so it is to be expected.

  2. I must say that Lena has matured since her photographs from last year. She has a great eye. It is interesting to see what she finds worthy of a picture; great works of art to a lizard. I see nothing inappropriate about the butt shots; she is 7. And, I enjoyed the different perspectives of the butts.

  3. Always enjoy Lena’s perspective but I’m a little sad – they aren’t little girl pics anymore. So sofisticated (except for the butts). Beautiful pics though.

  4. Lena did a great job! The butt shots gave me a chuckle each time I scrolled across one because I can totally relate and can see my kids doing the same thing!

  5. What a great eye! I love seeing Italy from her perspective.
The photo of the dress that appears to be floating is wonderful. I also love the photo of the entrance to what appears to be underground passage. I love how she focused on the doors, bolts and latches.
    Impressive!!
