Italian Holiday

larocque_travelposter

Last year, we enjoyed two amazing weeks in Paris… definitely the most beautiful city we have ever seen!  I also had the pleasure of sharing our trip with everyone by creating this travel blog.  Each blog post represents about 2 to 3 hours of work every night (after long days of sightseeing)…but I loved every minute of it.  Everyone knows I like to take pictures, and it’s fun to write about all of the things we see and eat and experience.

This year we are headed to Italy for two weeks!  We leave on July 4th and begin our adventure in Milan.  We are also making stops in Venice, Bologna, Florence and finally to Rome.

As I did last year, when I create a new blog post, I will add a link on Facebook to remind everyone to check out what we are up to.   Since it does take a lot of time to prepare each blog post, I do ask that you leave a comment once in while  (I need to feel the love)…it’s nice to get some feedback.

So, grab your passport and come along with us to Italy!

  1. Would you prefer comments on your blog or on Facebook? I’m excited to experience this journey along with you! I loved following your Paris trip and we are going to attempt to do a blog (although I’m sure it will not compare with yours) for our upcoming trip!

    1. I suppose I prefer comments on Worpress, but I guess it doesn’t matter! As long as I know that people are enjoying the blog!

  2. Looking forward to it. Will plan on commenting!! If I remember correctly last year I had trouble making comments from my phone. Will check that out and do better!!

  3. Looking forward to the trip! I don’t even have to pack, deal with travel craziness and getting a passport! lol

    1. LOL! Glad you are coming along for the ride! Maybe I’m a strange (actually, there is no “maybe”, I AM strange) but I have almost been looking more forward to doing this blog than the actual trip. I seriously love sharing pictures, but I hate posting entire albums on Facebook. So this is perfect.

      1. And I love looking at them. Italy is a county I’d go back to again and again. We tried getting stationed there. The food, the sights, the COFFEE. The best buying meat at one store, cheese at another then head to a bakery for bread. I spent a month there with some Italian friends. You will love it.

      2. And I love viewing them. Italy is a country I’d go back to again and again. The food, the sights, the COFFEE. I ate pasta everyday. The best is going to get deli meat at one location, cheese at another, then heading to a bakery for bread. I remember fresh fruit from street kiosks. I spent a month there with some Italian friends. You will love it. Lena is so well traveled.

  4. Your last picture, the view from your apartment, is so peaceful and perfect. Thanks for staying up and sharing…

  5. I will be interested to find out how the “feel” of Italy is different from the other countries to which you have traveled.

  6. Thank you for putting up this blog. We will be visiting paris-madrid-milan-florence-venice-rome this October and your blog gives me a glimpse on what to expect. I love all the pictures, what camera did you use? Lena’s smile is so adorable, im already a fan. Your story about maps + women, I know, I can totally relate, hahaha.

    1. Thanks for your comment. I use a combination of cameras…some of my best pics are with my iphone6…but I also have a Cannon Rebel DSLR and this year I brought my new Samsung NX300 camera…but the jury is still out on that being a good outdoor travel camera. Have a great trip!
